Sammanfattning: Statsvetenskapliga institutionen VT04 Handledare: NN Abstract This essay is looking at the Swedish Ecumenical Programme in Israel-Palestine (SEAPPI), with the purpose of examining if a NGO, as the Ecumenical Accompanier Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) can make a difference in a conflict. This will be done with the support of two different perspectives on NGO. Furthermore, my primary material is a book based on the accompaniers’ reports on the situation and their experiences in Israel-Palestine. My method is content analysis in order to examine the content in these reports. What my investigation show is that SEAPPI, through the ac- companiers, can, with their work on grassroots level with other organisations such as P/CRO, make a difference in a conflict. They collaborate with both parties of a conflict in “cross-community” activities to create a peace solution that will last. However, more often than not it is the Palestinian voices that are heard in the reports, and not in the same extent the Israeli civil society. This presents a problem.
