”I feel like it’s no such a thing as a gender”: : En kvalitativ studie av Young Thugs utmanande av maskulina genuskonventioner

Sammanfattning: This study examines how macsulinity can be expressed outside the norm and for this focuses on the rap/hiphop music artist Young Thug. With a multimodal discourse analysis, Young Thugs visual expressions from a sample of media content are examined. The visual expressions are discussed from gender theory and theory of different discourses of masculinity. The result of this study found that Young Thug challenges masculine conventions in a variety of displays. His use of clothes, colors, poses and his body in different ways challanges how masculinity can be expressed in a genre of music that often features particular expressions of masculinity.
