Sammanfattning: In recent time, agile methods have been devoted much attention, and the concept is widely used in the IT industry in particular. An increasing number of companies are interested in this way of working. The following report is the result of a study on the ability to create value for customers in business development through the use of agile methods. We ask what the advantages and limitations of agile methods are in the creation of customer value. Grounded Theory and an initial literature review was used to answer this question. The study resulted in the notion that agile methods are based on values with a clear customer orientation that involves a number of benefits that are considered especially valuable in business development projects. Iteration, constantly learning and striving to minimize activities that do not create value are considered the most important benefits. Iteration is a well known characteristic associated with the agile approach. The study also showed that the iterative nature also may include limitations in some cases, but with a good knowledge of the customer and the nature of the project be a good chance of using agile methods to create great value.
