Sammanfattning: E2017:092, The report analyses how groups in the knitting department at Ludvig Svensson can be organized in order to provide conditions for effective learning. Relevant literature has been studied in order to analyse the situation at the department and to make a suggestion on how to organize groups. The analysis of the department`s situation showed that training and improvement work have to be developed. Working groups do not have time to meet and training is not standardized. The report suggests to organize workers in improvement teams which are working teams at the same time. An improvement group is responsible for the production in a machine area and continuous improvements. Each improvement group has a team leader who has to follow up every worker`s development and who has to schedule training for the group together with the head of department. An improvement group includes the following roles: standardization- role, maintenance-role, ergonomics-role and quality-role. Meetings between individuals who have the same role in improvement teams and support staff provide overall collaboration. The company has to support the improvement team in creating value for customers. The company`s top management has to break down overall goals into specific goals for every department. The head of department has to coach group-leaders who in their part are responsible for coaching team-members. This competence requires that group-leaders continuously develop themselves.
