Sammanfattning: By creating an understanding of reuse, waste within the construction sector can be reduced. The purpose of this report is therefore to identify the obstacles and opportunities of reuse based on a case study regarding the recycling of specifically requested building materials by a company. The case study is based on an investigation of whether it is possible to reuse windows and interior doors from an approximately 100-year-old hospital for a state-of-the-art research center in Skellefteå. The report will also cover key performance indicators related to the case study. The collected data can then be used to create a general understanding of the obstacles and opportunities of reuse in the construction sector.   By conducting a material inventory of the selected building planned for demolition, an understanding of the windows and interior doors present in the building can be obtained. Using drawings and other technical tools, the number of interior doors and windows for the demolition-bound building can be calculated. CCBuild's calculation tool is used to obtain key figures related to the economic and climate savings associated with the examined building materials.   Furthermore, an investigation is conducted to determine if these building materials can be used to help LINK Arkitektur achieve a gold rating on Indicator 13 in Miljöbyggnad 4.0, using regulations, standards, and preliminary floor plans from the new construction. The case study and literature-based data can then be used to identify obstacles and opportunities related to the subject.   By reusing all interior doors and windows from the building slated for demolition, approximately 38.3 tons of   emissions can be saved, and an economic saving of around 910,000 SEK can be achieved. In this case, neither the interior doors nor the windows meet the requirements for the intended building and cannot be used for the intended purpose. The general result is that reuse is beneficial for the environment but not economically justifiable.   Due to the current high requirements for building components, it is not financially justifiable to reuse, as reused parts may need to undergo several tests for classification, which is currently not economically viable. Furthermore, the market is limited, logistics are challenging, and large storage spaces are required to store building materials. This, combined with a lack of knowledge within the industry, makes it difficult to justify reuse in the construction sector at present. However, there is significant potential for development in this area, but it may require incentives from municipalities or the state, in combination with stricter and clearer regulations.   The conducted inventory is specific to Skellefteå Hospital and cannot be generalized. Due to the lack of data and tools to analyze each inventoried product, the results of the inventory are not exact but rather can be used to get an idea of the climate and economic savings associated with reuse. To validate the results, literature studies have been conducted in conjunction with contacting individuals whose profession is related to reuse.   Keywords: Reuse, material inventory, circular economy, climate savings.
