1. The Metallicity Structure of the Milky Way Halo II : Characterising the distant halo substructure
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Observationell astrofysikSammanfattning : The Milky Way galaxy, like all spiral galaxies, is surrounded by a roughly spherical distribution of stars called the halo. The halo was largely formed when the galaxy merged with smaller galaxies. LÄS MER
2. SORTED : Serial manipulator with Object Recognition Trough Edge Detection
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : Today, there is an increasing demand for smart robots that can make decisions on their own and cooperate with humans in changing environments. The application areas for robotic arms with camera vision are likely to increase in the future of artificial intelligence as algorithms become more adaptable and intelligent than ever. LÄS MER
3. Improving web accessibility for colour vision deficiency (CVD) users : A response time study
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för informationsteknologiSammanfattning : The digital world is acquiring more space in today’s society. With this being said, it is important to keep the web content interpretable for everyone, despite any kind of disability. LÄS MER
4. Contrast Enhancement of Colour Images using Transform Based Gamma Correction and Histogram Equalization
Master-uppsats, Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för tillämpad signalbehandlingSammanfattning : Contrast is an important factor in any subjective evaluation of image quality. It is the difference in visual properties that makes an object distinguishable from other objects and background. Contrast Enhancement method is mainly used to enhance the contrast in the image by using its Histogram. LÄS MER
5. A kinematic check of the distance scale of Galactic Cepheids
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisationSammanfattning : A selection of well known period luminosity relations for cepheid variables are studied under the assumption that cepheid variables have a mean vertical velocity of zero in the galactic plane. Proper motion data from Hipparcos and Thyco-2 catalogues are coupled with the distances obtained from applying the period luminosity relations on a database of known classical cepheids to calculate the velocities of the cepheids.
