  1. 1. Battery Degradation and Health Monitoring in Lithium-Ion Batteries: An Evaluation of Parameterization and Sensor Fusion Strategies

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för systemteknik

    Författare :Simon Saber; [2024]
    Nyckelord :model-based diagnostics; modellbaserad diagnostik;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this project was to perform model-based diagnosis on Li-ion batteries using real-world data and sensor fusion algorithms. The data used in this project was collected and distributed by NASA and mainly consists of voltage and current measurements collected on numerous batteries that were repeatedly charged and discharged from their beginning of life, and until surpassing their end of life. 2. 2. An Empirical Survey of Bandits in an Industrial Recommender System Setting

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknik

    Författare :Tobias Schwarz; Johan Brandby; [2023-09-21]
    Nyckelord :computer science; industrial application; machine learning; reinforcement learning; multi-armed bandits; MAB; contextual multi-armed bandits; survey; batch learning;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the effects of incorporating unstructured data—images in the wild—in contextual multi-armed bandits are investigated, when used within a recommender system setting, which focuses on picture-based content suggestion. The idea is to employ image features, extracted by a pre-trained convolutional neural network, and study the resulting bandit behaviors when including respective excluding this information in the typical context creation, which normally relies on structured data sources—such as metadata. 3. 3. Mesoscale precipitation systems in the Tibetan Plateau region as represented by global reanalysis, regional downscaling and satellite data between 2001 - 2016

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Benjamin Holmberg; [2022-09-01]
    Nyckelord :Tibetan Plateau; monsoon; westerlies; mesoscale; convection; precipitation; climate modelling; global reanalysis; regional downscaling; spatial resolution; re-initialization; spectral nudging; convective parameterization;

    Sammanfattning : The Tibetan Plateau (TP) is one of the world’s most important water towers. Convective precipitation systems play an important role by providing freshwater for the highly densely populated downstream regions, but they can also cause hazardous floods. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Evaporation Duct Modelling for a Wave-Propagation Simulator

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Författare :Oscar Eklund; [2022]
    Nyckelord :evaporation; duct; height; monin; obukhov; mos; surface; layer; ssft; byc; pj; businger; dyer; beljaars; holtslag; cheng; brutsaert; sheba;

    Sammanfattning : Long-range communication proves to be a challenge due to the Earth’s curvature, since electromagnetic waves propagate away from the Earth’s surface in a free atmosphere. A possible solution to beyond line-of-sight communication is the atmospheric phenomenon known as the evaporation duct. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Parameterizing Emotions For Procedurally Content Generated Game Levels : A Case Study of the Game To the Skies!

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för speldesign

    Författare :Oliver Svärd; Ludvig Köhn; Aulden Carter; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Circumplex Model of Affect; Color Psychology; Level Design; Measuring Emotions; Procedural Content Generation;

    Sammanfattning : Procedural Content Generation (PCG) in games often suffers from a lack of emotional connection with the player as well as a perceived sameness. This thesis aims to design and test a tool for PCG game levels for the game To the Skies! which incorporates an emotional intention based upon the color-emotion theory proposed by Fugate and Franco, 2019.
