  1. 1. PGE Geochemistry and Mineralogy of Dunite, Chromitite, and Laterite Samples from the Acoje Ophiolite Block, Philippines

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Geovetenskap och miljöteknik

    Författare :Michelle Dossey; [2023]
    Nyckelord :PGM; PGE; laterite; limonite; chromitite; dunite; platinum group minerals; platinum group elements; Acoje; Philippines;

    Sammanfattning : Ni-laterites have the potential to become unconventional ore deposits for platinum group elements (PGE). This study was conducted to determine enrichment trends of PGE as a result of the Ni-laterization process. LÄS MER

  2. 2. NUDE (APRÈS LE BAIN): An Inter-Disciplinary Technical Study of an Oil Painting on Cardboard by Pierre Bonnard

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

    Författare :Victoria Skalleberg; [2020-08-05]
    Nyckelord :Bonnard; paper conservation; spectroscopy; material identification;

    Sammanfattning : In this master thesis in paper conservation, an oil painting on cardboard (WL84, Gothenburg Museum of Art) by French artist Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) is investigated. The painting shows signs of degradation in the form of staining, pigment loss, and discolored varnish. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Impactites from the Hiawatha crater, North-West Greenland

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Författare :Jacob Gustafsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Hiawatha; impact crater; Cape York; Baffin Bay; Greenland Ice Sheet; Younger Dryas; meteorite; impactite; organic carbon; conifer; vitrinite reflectance; Ro; cellular texture; chromite; chromium isotope; toasted quartz; ballen quartz; melted carbonate; granular zircon; planar deformation feature;

    Sammanfattning : The recent discovery of the 31-km-wide Hiawatha impact crater has raised unanswered questions about its age, impactor and highly unusual organic carbon component. Previous research suggests a fractionated iron meteorite impactor, a probable maximum 3–2.4 Ma impact age and a possible Younger Dryas impact age. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cr-spinels in the Franklinian Mobile Belt : a geochemical record of Paleozoic tectonics

    Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Författare :Malvina Forbes Halldén; [2019]
    Nyckelord :geology; geochemistry; spinel; Cr-spinel; chromite; SEM; scanning electron microscope; electron microprobe; EMP; electron probe microanalyzer; EPMA; electron micro probe analyzer; EMPA; petrogenetic indicator; microscopy; alteration; Franklinian Mobile Belt; Kulutingwak Formation; Clements Markham fold belt; Pearya; Paleozoic; suprasubduction zone; SSZ; island arc; IA; Arctic Canadian Archipelago; Ellesmere Island; Canada; 2017 Circum-Arctic Structural Events Expedition 19; Memorial University of Newfoundland; geologi; geokemi; spinell; Cr-spinell; kromit; SEM; svepeletronmikroskopi; elektronmikrosondanalys; EMP; EPMA; EMPA; petrogenetisk indikator; mikroskopi; Franklinian Mobile Belt; Kulutingwak-formationen; Clements Markham fold belt; Pearya; Paleozoikum; suprasubduktionszon; SSZ; öbåge; IA; Kanadas arktiska öar; Ellesmereön; Kanada; 2017 Circum-Arctic Structural Events Expedition 19; Memorial University of Newfoundland;

    Sammanfattning : The chemical compositions of Cr-spinel extracted from mafic and ultramafic rocks collected on Ellesmere Island in the Arctic Canadian Archipelago were obtained through electron microprobe analyses. The extensively altered rocks are sampled from rock units in the Franklinian MobileBelt, which is representative of a Paleozoic tectonically active oceanic regime of which little is presently known. 5. 5. Framgång i amfibieoperationer : En teoriprövande studie om framgång i Operation Chromite, 1950

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Försvarshögskolan

    Författare :Hannes Elvin Nowak; [2019]
    Nyckelord :amfibie; Speller; framgång; Chromite; Koreakriget; 1950;

    Sammanfattning : This paper examines how Speller’s theory of success in amphibious operations can be applied on a successful amphibious operation. The research has been encouraged by the fact that previous research concerning success in amphibious operations appears to be lacking. LÄS MER
