Sveriges jämställdhetspolitik – Ett avpolitiserat politiskt område utan perspektiv på makt och kön?

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: How can Swedish equality politics be understood, based upon analysis of formulations about gender and power, in the Swedish politic parties’ election manifestos from 1998, 2006 and 2014? Can any change, or trend, be identified over these years? By using a Faircloughian discourse analysis, along with a feministic theoretical perspective, is this study aiming to investigate how the nine largest political parties of Sweden approaches gender and power, within their well-polished manifestos. The study comes to the conclusion that a lot of progress can be seen during the span of these years, in terms of how the texts are formulated. Also, the study concludes that there has been a significant increase in how often terms about gender and gender-power order are being used within the manifestos. A trend can be identified, which clearly shows that the parties’ interest for equality politics has increased. This can be observed by measuring the extent of these texts, which is significantly larger 2014, than in the late-90’s. It can also be observed by measuring how many political parties which identify themselves as feministic, which is six out of nine as of 2014, compared to only one, in 1998.
