  1. 6. Can urban tree re-inventories inform future species selection? : diameter at breast height as an indicator for tree performance in Malmö municipality’s tree database

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Hannah Kit Kraynick Braegelmann; [2023]
    Nyckelord :DBH; ; diameter at breast height; tree inventories; tree re-inventories; urban forestry; species selection; tree management;

    Sammanfattning : Using the inventory database of trees for Malmö municipality, Sweden, this study explored the potential of using the diameter at breast height (DBH) measurement in re-inventories, as a decision-making tool for species selection and management in urban forests. With the escalating pressures of urbanization and unpredictable climate change effects, there is an urgent need for urban forest managers to possess reliable tools that can facilitate the selection of resilient tree species capable of thriving in diverse and changing urban contexts. 2. 7. Biodiversity Monitoring Using Machine Learning for Animal Detection and Tracking

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Qian Zhou; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Small Target Detection; Target Tracking; YOLOv5; DeepSORT; Attention Mechanism; Loss Function; Feature Extraction and Fusion Network; Detektering Av små sål; sålspårning; YOLOv5; DeepSORT; uppmärksamhetsmekanism; förlustfunktion; fusionsnätverk;

    Sammanfattning : As an important indicator of biodiversity and ecological environment in a region, the number and distribution of animals has been given more and more attention by agencies such as nature reserves, wetland parks, and animal protection supervision departments. To protect biodiversity, we need to be able to detect and track the movement of animals to understand which animals are visiting the space. LÄS MER

  3. 8. “Vi skal da bruge ressourcen under os”

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)

    Författare :Sigrid Christiansen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :CCS; carbon; capture and storage; perception; local willingness; framing; risks and benefits; land based storage; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Local acceptance is key when implementing climate technologies. One necessary technology to mitigate climate change is land-based Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). In Denmark, earlier experience with the technology ended in shutdown due to local resistance. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Development of a Product Circularity Indicator Suitable for the EPD-scheme of Construction Products : A Review of Product Circularity Indicators and their Potential Applicability in EPDs for the Construction Sector

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Anna Hallberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Circular Economy; Product Circularity; Indicator; EPD; Construction Products; Green Buildings; Cirkulär Ekonomi; Produktcirkuläritet; Indikator; EPD; Byggprodukter; Hållbara Byggnader;

    Sammanfattning : A change in resource consumption patterns is crucial to avoid climate change, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to increase climate resilience and consequently, the idea of a circular economy (CE) has gained widespread attention. The resource intense building and construction sector has become subject to both internal and external pressure to become more circular. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Hur mår Östhammarsfjärden? : vårblomning som möjlig indikator på vattenkvalitet

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment

    Författare :Freja Westermark; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Vattenkvalitet; bioindikator; plankton; kväve; fosfor; närsalter; Östhammar;

    Sammanfattning : Denna uppsats undersöker vattenkvaliteten i Östhammarsfjärdarna med fokus på näring och algblomning. Provtagning utfördes för att undersöka om planktonanalyser gav samma resultat som fysikalisk-kemiska analyser. LÄS MER
