  1. 11. How does predation from fish influence the benthic invertebrates’ species composition in the Phragmites australis and Chara vegetation of Lake Takern?

    Master-uppsats, Ekologi

    Författare :Ernest Aigbavbiere; [2011]
    Nyckelord :Handling time; intake rate; predation; macro-invertebrates.;

    Sammanfattning : Predation is one of the important selective factors that regulate the species composition of benthic invertebrate communities. The study objective was to investigate the invertebrate distribution in two contrasting habitats in Lake Takern, southern Sweden, submerged Chara vegetation and emergent Phragmites australis vegetation, and to investigate the influence of predation from fish on certain invertebrates. 2. 12. Selective predation by perch (Perca fluviatilis) on a freshwater isopod, in two macrophyte substrates.

    Master-uppsats, Ekologi

    Författare :Magnus Andersson; [2010]
    Nyckelord :fish predation; perch; Asellus aquaticus; divergent selection; habitat-specific adaptation; background matching.;

    Sammanfattning : Recent studies show that populations of the freshwater isopod Asellus aquaticus L. can rapidly become locally differentiated when submerged stonewort (Chara spp.) vegetation expands in lakes. In the novel Chara habitat, isopods become lighter pigmented and smaller than in the ancestral reed stands. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Predation som selektiv kraft bakom differentiering av populationer av sötvattensgråsugga, Asellus aquaticus

    Magister-uppsats, Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Författare :Theres Lyrsten; [2010]
    Nyckelord :Asellus aquaticus; damsefly larvae perch; selective predation pigmentation;

    Sammanfattning : Predation is a strong dective force on invertebrate prey. Asellus aquaticus differs in pigmentation reed and submerged vegetation habitats in lakes. Light pigmented individuals al vegetation dominated by Chara sp. while dark pigmented individuals dominate in the reeds. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Påverkan av tillskott av död ved och reducerat evertebratnedfall på öringens (Salmo trutta L.) diet i en skogsbäck

    Magister-uppsats, Fakulteten för samhälls- och livsvetenskaper

    Författare :David Zetterqvist; [2008]
    Nyckelord :brown trout; Salmo trutta; diet; woody debris; invertebrate input; forest stream; öring; Salmo trutta; diet; död ved; evertebratnedfall; skogsbäck;

    Sammanfattning : Det svenska skogsbruket har lett till minskade vedmängder i skogsbäckarna. Detta kan undvikas genom att orörda kantzoner lämnas. Kantzonsvegetatioen har även visats påverka nedfallet av terrestra evertebrater, vilket visats minska andelen terrestra evertebrater i laxfiskars diet. Ofta lämnas dock inga kantzoner. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Introduction of vegetation in large scale hydrodynamic models

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Författare :Goncalo Ferreira Cardoso; [2005]
    Nyckelord :Environmental technology; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; soil mechanics; vegetation modelling; vegetation modeling; lake hydrodynamics; shallow lakes; hydrodynamic models; hydraulics; Technological sciences; Teknik; Civil engineering; offshore technology; hydraulic engineering; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; Technology and Engineering; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Vegetation is known to have different effects in shallow water environments, including changes in hydrodynamics. This often creates the need to include vegetation in large scale hydrodynamic models, which nowadays can already be achieved using some software packages available in the market. LÄS MER
