Sammanfattning: This study aims to widen the known information about how female sexual offenders are depicted in online-forums, specifically the Swedish online-forum Flashback. The research questions that guided this study were as follows; 1) How female sexual offenders are depicted on Flashback as well as 2) How female sexual offenders’ crimes are constructed on Flashback. The material for this study was collected by tracking hashtags on Flashback and gathering comments relating to relevant subjects. The analysis was done by applying a thematic discourse analysis to the material. The major findings in the study showed that female sexual offenders are constructed as less sexually desirable, less attractive, and often as fat or old. The women that were deemed to not possess these qualities were instead constructed as not having committed a crime. The female offenders were also constructed as dependent on narcotics or alcohol or as having mental illnesses’ such as dementia, Tourette’s syndrome, and bipolar disorder. The sexual crimes being performed by women were dominated by the thought that women use external force to manoeuvre their victims, such as tying with rope, drugging, or otherwise incapacitating men. Rape by women was usually constructed as consisting of anal penetration or oral stimulation, while non-sexual physical violence, gangrape or partner sexual violence were not found to be common themes in these constructions.
