Växthusvisionen - Vägen till ett öppnare och grönare Sofielund

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Utbildningar i Helsingborg

Sammanfattning: Issue: The majority of arable land that exists today is already occupied while the population around the world is constantly increasing. New cultivable areas must be explored and developed. Is the construction of greenhouses on existing rooftops in urban environments possible, and how can this benefit a city like Malmö? Purpose: The purpose of this project is to display how a greenhouse may be constructed on an existing rooftop in Malmö and the conditions that must be considered. By implementing energy simulations, we observe what impact different materials can have on the greenhouse’s energy savings. We also want to demonstrate the beneficial effects that the building can generate for the local area and the city of Malmö. Method: The two main components of this project consist of investigating how the greenhouse could be constructed on the rooftop and how it would be as energy efficient as possible based on the wishes of the property owner. To see which conditions exist for the new construction, we have performed literature studies followed by calculations. Energy simulations were carried out in a simulation program called Derob LTH, where energy calculations are based on the indoor temperature desired for the greenhouse. Results: By using double-glazing in connection with shading fabrics in the greenhouse up to 41 percent more energy savings can be achieved in comparison to a construction with single-glazing with shading fabrics were used. For the greenhouse to be built, a steel construction with a new floor structure needs to be constructed on the outside of the existing building. The outcome of the greenhouse being built will result in that Malmö's image as a green city is being promoted. Key words: Rooftop greenhouse, Energy upgrade, New construction, Construction, Greenhouse technology.
