Sammanfattning: Quality work has become important in recent decades for longterm profitability. ISO 3834 is a framework for achieving an effective quality system in welding. The advantage of using ISO 3834 is the ability to guarantee quality. Understanding Why quality assurance is important for companies, especially in welding, is crucial. Welding is central to industries, and flaws in welding can lead to serious consequences. Implementing the quality standard ISO 3834 minimizes risks by providing clear guidelines and processes for quality assurance. The purpose was to investigate how the cornerstone model can be used when a company implements the standard system ISO 3834 in a Swedish industry. To implement a standard system, the organization needs to evaluate its current position and use it as a starting point forimprovement. Through semi-structured interviews and observations at the case company, and with the help of a content analysis, results were complied. The interviews formed the basis of the data collection but with observation supplemented the interview responses with additional information. The case company shows varying levels of how well the activities are met; some activities are well met, while other very little In conclusion, the cornerstone model can be used as a basis when a company implements ISO 3834, as it provides a good overview of all prats of the process. Some guidelines and processes need to be created by the case company to implement ISO 3834, some of which are that management becomes more involved in quality work, maintenance planes for welding equipment, and proper storage of material.
