    Sammanfattning : This study aimed to investigate the motivation of a number of Swedish upper secondary students in terms of learning English, as well as their two English teachers’ understanding of this motivation, and how teacher roles and teaching methods might be crucial for students’ motivation to learn English at upper secondary level.
