1. Robust non-Abelian geometric phases on three-qubit spin codes
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/MaterialteoriSammanfattning : Quantum holonomies are non-Abelian Geometric Phases predominantly observed in adiabatic, non-adiabatic, or measurement-based quantum evolutions. Their significance lies in their potential utility within quantum computing due to their robustness against noise throughout the parameter path. LÄS MER
2. Fano Resonances in Time-Dependent Wells
L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/MaterialteoriSammanfattning : Floquet’s theorem, a temporal analogue of Bloch’s theorem, is used for studying a time-dependent potential. With applications in cold atoms on optical lattices, quantum dots and more, there is a growing interest in Floquet engineering exotic materials and phases. LÄS MER
3. An Introduction to Symmetry Protected Topological Phases
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Teoretisk fysikSammanfattning : In this thesis, we aim to display characteristics of symmetry protected topological phases within quantum mechanics (QM). Building on well known aspects of QM, we relate the formalism to basic group representation theory, and review the connection between projective symmetries and protected vacuum degeneracies. LÄS MER
4. Majorana bound states in chains of interacting quantum dots
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/NanoLund: Centre for NanoscienceSammanfattning : This thesis concerns the creation of Majorana bound states (MBSs) -- a type of condensed matter excitations theorized to have exotic and technologically valuable properties. In particular, they could be used to store and manipulate quantum information in a protected way, forming the building blocks of a topological quantum computer. LÄS MER
5. Geometric Phases In Weak Measurements
L3-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/MaterialteoriSammanfattning : We explore a natural extension of the Abelian geometric phase factor in sequences of incomplete measurements to include high dimensional quantum states in the weak measurement scenario. To achieve the goal, we focus on sequential weak measurements of non-commuting projectors and combine the idea of weak measurements and the notion of a non-Abelian geometric phase. LÄS MER
