  1. 1. Diversifying a Real Estate Portfolio Through Infrastructure Investment : An Interview Study of Opportunities and Challenges in the Nordics

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fastighetsföretagande och finansiella system

    Författare :Carl Jussi-Pekka; Pontus Grundström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Real Assets; Infrastructure Investments; Nordic Infrastructure; Barriers; Opportunities; Real Estate; Reala tillgångar; Infrastrukturinvesteringar; Nordisk Infrastruktur; Barriärer; Möjligheter; Fastigheter;

    Sammanfattning : Since the financial crisis infrastructure has become an increasingly attractive asset class for investors, especially among financial institutions, who recognize the value of diversification opportunities within infrastructure. In parallel with the emergence of infrastructure as an investable asset class, the global financial turbulence has generated even greater incentives for investors to diversify their portfolios with infrastructure, as the asset class exhibits characteristics to navigate in a more challenging economic environment. 2. 2. CFD Based External Heat Transfer Coefficient Predictions on a Transonic Film-Cooled Gas Turbine Guide Vane : A Computational Fluid Dynamics Study on the Von Karman Institute LS94 Test Case

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Mekanisk värmeteori och strömningslära

    Författare :Rosalie Johnsson; Lilian Asiegbu; [2022]
    Nyckelord :gas turbine; turbine inlet guide vane; film-cool; film cool; Computational Fluid Dynamics; CFD; heat transfer coefficient; Shear Stress Transport k-ω; SST k-ω; Scale Resolving Hybrid; SRH; turbulence modelling;

    Sammanfattning : The turbine inlet guide vanes of a gas-turbine are subjected to extreme hot gas temperatures which increases the risk of mechanical failure and overall reduces the component lifespan. Hence, it is of great interest for gas-turbine manufacturers to establish methods for accurately estimating the temperature distribution along the vane surface. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Nyckelord :theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 4. 4. On the Identification of Nonlinear Optima in Spatially Developing Boundary Layer Flow

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Strömningsmekanik och Teknisk Akustik

    Författare :Emanuel Taschner; [2021]
    Nyckelord :transition to turbulence; nonlinear stability analysis; boundary layer flow; övergång till turbulens; icke-linjär stabilitetsanalys; gränsskiktsflöden;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis studies transition to turbulence in a spatially developing bound-ary layer for subcritical Reynolds numbers. A fully nonlinear iterative direct-adjoint optimisation technique is employed to identify finite amplitude perturbations triggering transition in an energy efficient way. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A Topology-Based Method for Inferring Turbulence in Unsteady Flows

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Tobias Edwards; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the rise and evolution of turbulence is an important component of designing vehicles and turbomachinery that both have long life and are efficient. To this end, researchers study the complex phenomenon of turbulence. LÄS MER
