Sammanfattning: Thesis project of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, MSGC17, is the final exam course at the mechanical engineering program at Karlstad University. This thesis project is carried out at the wheel loader manufacturer Volvo Construction Equipment in Arvika during the spring term 2020. The objective with this thesis is to develop complete technical drawings together with a scale model of a design solution. The target is to design a solution that will enable improved removal of metal chips and thereby reduce the amount of metal chips which remains on the fixture after the machining. The work has been carried out according to a product development process where important steps has been included such as planning, concept generation, concept selection, detailed design and evaluation. The design work has consisted of Brain- and Pen Aided Design and in the work with the detailed design have the CAD software PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 been used. The final result is a design consisting of covers which effectively leads away machining chips from the fixture and at the same time covers the horizontal areas of the fixture where large quantities of machining chips accumulate during machining. A scale model test has been carried out and the result of this showed that the design contributes to remove metal chips in a more efficient way than the individual fixture itself.
