Detta är en Master-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Förpackningslogistik

Sammanfattning: Haldex Barnes Hydraulics (HBH) is a company which produces hydraulic aggregates for use in forklifts, construction equipment, and trucks. The last two years the company has expanded. This has lead to an insufficient production of aggregates. Thus wishes HBH to increase their production without making to large investments. This report includes a now-state analysis of the problems and where they are. From this a further analysis of possible improvements are made. HBH works mainly with assembling and this is made manually. There it is hard to gain any efficiency. The main problem is that employees good at assembling are having to many other tasks, They have to go get materials to often. The company makes differently sized batches. When a batch is finished next one cannot be started right away. Another cause of time lost from the assembling is that the company has a shortage of raw materials. There are three ways to increase the productivity: ? Material supplier and material optimizing ? New warehouse handling system ? Communication With a material provider the assemblers must not go get their own materials, but can continue with the assembling while the supplier services them with what they need. A few simple calculations show the company gain from hiring a material supplier. With a new warehouse handling system with bar codes much of the current material shortage could be eliminated. It would also lead to a better structure in the warehouse. Communication is always important. In HBH the communication between the departments is not good enough. This leads to that an error somewhere may never be discovered or taken care of because no one reports it.
