Sociala medier och psykisk hälsa hos gymnasieungdomar

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Högskolan i Gävle/Avdelningen för arbetshälsovetenskap och psykologi

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social media use, primarily TikTok and Instagram, and mental health in high school youth, and to see if there were any gender differences in these results. The study is a quantitative survey and has used the GHQ-12 scale as a measuring instrument for mental illness, as well as screen time for social media use. The results found that there is no significant correlation between screen time and mental illness. However, there was a clear connection between girls' mental health and screen time, where the girls who spent the most time on social media felt the worst. This correlation did not exist for boys.
