Vägar att finna vägar - Metoder att finna historiska och förhistoriska vägar i Uppåkras lokalområde

Sammanfattning: This thesis is about finding methods, by relating the roads on historical maps, landscape and ancient remains, to find prehistoric roads of different kinds with the area around Uppåkra as an example. By using different maps, modern as well as historical, I have tried to understand the landscape and how the roads stretch within it. Then comparing that to ancient remains and some important changes in society during the period Iron age – 18th century I’ve tried to decide if the roads stretches back in prehistory by making models for three different periods 1700-1800s, late Iron age- Medieval period and Iron age with different methods. Examples of roads that are probable to stretch back in prehistory are presented and whit these a discussion about the method and the significance of the roads follows.
