Kvinnans tur att rasera mannens yrkesmonopol på entreprenörskap: En kvalitativ studie om hur jämställt entreprenörskap påverkas av investerares riskkapitalallokering

Sammanfattning: Companies founded by females have low reliability of investors even though there is research showing that there are no significant differences in results between female and male founded companies. In Sweden 2021, 0.5 percent of investment capital went to female funders. Women entrepreneurs are facing structural biases and norms in the industry which gives rise to unequal entrepreneurship. This qualitative study aims to describe how both women and men should be a matter of course in the field of entrepreneurship and describe norms, attitudes and obstacles that investors and entrepreneurs have and are faced with today. The exact research question is “How should women get a bigger role within entrepreneurship and have the opportunity for funding?” Regulatory focus theory helps describe how individuals behave during decision making. An interview study was conducted, in which both investors and female entrepreneurs participated. The findings show that investors' personal connections and networks are two of the reasons why women entrepreneurs do not receive funding. Networks are a prerequisite in order to receive funding, and that women need to get access to them in order to prevail within entrepreneurship. In addition, investors who promote sustainability are needed in order for women to attain a bigger role in entrepreneurship. Finally, the study shows tendencies that, in the long run, diversified teams have competitive advantages and are likely to be the most successful. The results of this report therefore suggest that investors should include criteria with attributes that promote diversified teams and a sustainable focus as a prerequisite for investments in order to achieve gender equality within entrepreneurship.
