Bland allaktivister och anarkister : en studie av politisk aktivism i Lund 1968–1970.

Sammanfattning: During the mythical 1968, a left-wing wave swept across the world. New social and political issues took place on the agenda with the hope of a more equal, humanistic and better world. In Sweden, left-wing groups worked in solidarity with the people of the Third World, against the war in Vietnam and for increased democratization. The university city of Lund was no exception. The small Scanian town was seen as the country's third most important political city with a strong student movement that characterized political life. In historiography, Swedish post-war politics has been characterized by a thought about consensus, but it is an inaccurate picture. Modern political history has also been characterized by conflict, not least during the 1968 movement. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the all-activists and anarchists made politics at street level in Lund during the years 1968–1970. Using theoretical tools taken from the research field of contentious politics studies and hermeneutic methodological tools, the study has aimed to create an increased understanding of the confrontational left during the 1968 movement. Six actions have been investigated that were carried out by left-wing activists in the city, three house occupations and three actions against the forensic psychiatric clinic in Lund. By studying processes and mechanisms, it is possible to access everything from tensions between activists and the police to how the activists motivated their actions. In addition, the essay has investigated how spatiality and mobilization were connected. The essay has investigating which actions were in the all-activists' and anarchist' s repertoire of contention and which countermeasures the authorities had. It has been possible to see how different scale shifts affected the actions and how different political opportunity structures were governing which forms of action were possible. Spatiality was central to the mobilization where various safe spaces were important for the activists' organization. The police worked to make the safe rooms unsafe. Over time, it was possible to see a relational development where activists, the police and the legal system reacted to the other party's actions. An escalation can be seen over time in the social confrontation between the parties involved but ultimately the situation de-escalated through legal repression.
