1. Genetic manipulation to improve efficacy of dendric cell adoptive immunotherapy against cancer in dogs
Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitetSammanfattning : To improve the efficacy of the dendritic cell vaccine Alv B DC from Alv B, the PD-L1 expression in cancer cells was attempted to be reduced through a transfection with a custom designed siRNA. Before transfecting the dendritic cells, the siRNA functionality had to be tested through flow cytometry, that resulted in negative results and therefore led to a RT-qPCR protocol that indicated that the siRNA was functional. 2. Non-coding RNAs as therapeutic agents : The future of therapy
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : Non-coding RNA (ncRNA) therapeutics are based on short oligonucleotides, both naturally occurring and artificial, which target RNA in a site-specific way to modulate gene expression. As of today, 12 synthetically produced ncRNA-based drugs are available on the market in the US and Europe, and there is a possibility of more to be approved in the near future. LÄS MER
3. Characterization of NeuN expression in the mouse neuronal NSC-34 cell line using RT-qPCR, immunological staining and siRNA-mediated gene suppression
Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för kvinnors och barns hälsaSammanfattning : Background: Acute spinal trauma is followed by a secondary injury that causes additional damage to the tissue. The mouse neuronal hybrid cell line NSC-34 is planned for studies regarding this process, wherefore the cell line needed to be established in the laboratory and a proof-of-concept study needed to be performed. 4. A novel Adenoviral miRNA, a candidate for development of a novel gene therapy startegy
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : In 2017, a novel miRNA was found at the MLTU-region of adenoviral genome, termed as MLP-TSS-sRNA. This current study started with performing a series of mutations in the MLP-TSS-sRNA in order to investigate how the MLP-TSS-sRNA as a single stranded small RNA was protected from rapid RNA degradation in transfected cells (in vivo). 5. MED13 regulates substrate utilization and bioenergetics in human skeletal muscle
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskapSammanfattning : The Mediator Complex has an essential function in regulating the transcription of several genes, working as a scaffold between transcription factors and polymerase II. It is composed of 26 subunits, with the kinase, or CDK subunit, being one of the most important for the mediator complex activation. LÄS MER
