Sammanfattning: Abstract Title: The possibilities of healthcare logistics, a stagnated market with great potential Author: Marcus Oknelid Supervisors: Bertil Nilsson, division of industrial management, The faculty of engineering at Lund University. Lars Eiring, CEO, Myloc AB Examiner: Johan Marklund, division of industrial management, The faculty of engineering at Lund University. Background: Healthcare logistics is not planable in the same way as other logistic areas. This is because the healthcare logistics is dependent on care cases and needs. With new regulations there is an increased interest in clarifying how districts and municipalities work with healthcare logistics today. Furthermore through clarifying work methods and ability, areas of improvement may arise. The company Myloc AB sees areas of improvement in today’s market where many manufactures, wholesalers and importers in the healthcare sector are using outdated systems that can be improved. Furthermore Myloc has their own logistics platform in healthcare logistics with a focus on aid tools. With this they raise the question if the platform can be used in more areas. Problem description: • How can the logistic process be made simpler, more transparent and controllable? • How can digital development be done to favor the regions and municipalities within healthcare logistics? • How can the material flow within healthcare logistics become a closed loop and furthermore how can handling of residual products in healthcare be improved? • How do the regions and municipalities work with data and the Sustainable Development Goals? In addition can these workflows be improved upon? Purpose: The purpose with this master thesis is to chart districts and municipalities workflows in today’s healthcare logistics. With this work flows can be compared and areas of improvement can be brought to light. Furthermore is the purpose to investigate the challenges and the potential of a logistics platform within healthcare logistics. Methodology: This master thesis was conducted as a qualitative multi case study. Data has been collected via in-depth interviews and a deep contact with Myloc. The data has also been verified by the respondents after the interview. Result: • The current system for aid tools districts and municipalities are using today is lacking when it comes to managing logistics and tracking of products. To achieve improvement three ways are suggested. The first opportunity is that Sesam as a closed system is opened up so that other systems can be connected upon Sesam as a complement. The second opportunity is for the system to go through extensive updates. Through the updates the system must solve the requirements for MDR and also make Sesam work as a true logistic system. The third option is to change the system to a system that can handle the new needs today’s healthcare logistics has. • Today’s healthcare logistics is a dated sector that lays far behind in technological development when compared to other logistic sectors. Through increased digital development a better understanding can arise of the flow as well as where the products are located. Furthermore collaboration such as coordinated goods transportation is enabled. • The healthcare logistics that is conducted today is in an optimal state when it comes to recycling opportunities and is an area where there are great advantages in delving deeper. Through increased communication between entities and comparing data the regions and municipalities can help each other in their recycling work. • The way districts and municipalities operate with data and the Sustainable Development Goals differs considerably, where the entities have reached different levels in their work. The importance of concretizing the goals has also become clear and that the goals must be carried through all levels of the organization for real impact.
