“Man tror man fått all hjälp man kan få, sen får man reda på att det finns mer hjälp/anpassningar utifrån ens behov.” - En kvantitativ enkätstudie om socionomstudenters psykiska mående

Sammanfattning: This study aimed to examine the mental health of students at the School of Social Work at Lund University and see how it connects to the use of student health resources offered by the university. This study was based on a digital survey that had been sent out to social work students at Lund University. The data we collected was analyzed with George Engel’s biopsychosocial model. The results of our study present that female students, in general, show that they experience worse mental health problems compared to male students. Results from our survey also revealed that it doesn’t matter how long the students have studied at the university. They still experience the same symptoms during their time spent studying there. The study also showed that older students who answered the survey estimated that their level of mental well being was acceptable, yet their provided answers concerning their experienced symptoms say that their mental well being is on a lower level. The younger generation of students displayed a more consistent view of their mental well-being and experienced symptoms, with their answers to both being roughly the same. The study also revealed that little over a third of students who responded to the survey said that they had knowledge of mental health services on campus meant for them to use. Compared to this, the results showed that a third of students did not know of the on-campus mental health services.
