1. Harnessing Hydrogen and Batteries: Hybrid Energy Storage System for Versatile and Profitable Renewable Power Production
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automationSammanfattning : This thesis explores the integration of hydrogen and battery energy storage systems as a means to enhance the management of wind and solar power in the pursuit of a greener grid. The objective of the study is to identify the potential benefits and challenges associated with hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) and their role in renewable energy integration. LÄS MER
2. Top-down cost assessment and market regulatory conditions affecting BESS feasibility in the Spanish framework : Exploring the viability of utility-scale stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Systems in Spain
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : This thesis report provides a comprehensive analysis of the regulatory landscape governing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Spain and offers insights into their operational optimization and economic viability. The study centers on a 40 MW BESS and explores three distinct case studies, each representing varying system durations (one, two, and four hours) and two different electricity price scenarios (2019 and 2022). 3. Optimal Dispatch of Green Hydrogen Production
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : This project proposes a hybrid system for hydrogen production, which includes a connection to the grid, a source of renewable energies, namely photovoltaic (PV), a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and a PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzer modelled from commercial technologies available. A dispatch optimization algorithm will evaluate the price of the energy inputs and the power available from the solar PV system and will decide the operation on an hourly basis to maximize net profit in a year timeframe. 4. Towards low carbon buildings: A case study in Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljöSammanfattning : This study comprehensively evaluated the global warming potential of an office building in a newly built Scandinavian neighbourhood seeking to reach sustainability. The primary objective of the research was to support the city authorities of Helsingborg by providing valuable insights into actual carbon emissions at the building level and proposing measures to minimize these emissions to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. 5. Comparing the Effects of Flexibility Options on Conventional and Low-temperature District Heating Networks : Studying the potential of the next generation of district energy systems
Master-uppsats, KTH/EnergiteknikSammanfattning : District heating (DH) systems have been commonplace in Europe for over a century. These systems have undergone an evolution since their conceiving, and today we are at the precipice of the next major transition from the third-generation district heating system (3GDH) to the fourth generation (4GDH).
