Subjekt och expressionism : En analys av subjektet i diktsamlingen Ångest i ett litteraturhistoriskt sammanhang

Sammanfattning: In this paper I analyze how the subject, the I, in Pär Lagerkvist's poetry collection Ångest (1916), and how it relates to the literary movement expressionism. To do this I use the following questions: how is the subject portrayed? and how does the subject's description relate to the literary history and influencers of its time period? My conclusion is that I find three themes that describes the subejct: ambivalance towards life, reflection of humanity, and the First World War. The use of intense and emotive words and putting the human in focus connects the subject in Lagerkvists poems to expressionism.
