Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to gain a deeper understanding through interviews of how relatives of suicidal people experience communication from healthcare in Sweden today. The theoretical starting point for the study was phenomenology where a qualitative research method was then used with semi-structured interviews as a data collection method. A total of six relatives were interviewed. The results of the study show that all relatives have a similar experience of their life world as a relative. Four themes were identified where three affect the relative's life world, as well as one theme that concerns the relative's desired location. The results show that communication from healthcare has been close to non-existent and in the cases where relatives have had contact with the care, this has been characterized by own initiative, poor treatment and blaming of the relative. Communication is shown to be a key factor for relatives to reach understanding about both their own situation as well as their family member. This could have helped them to get a better experience of their role as a relative to a suicidal family member and could therefore affect their life world for the better. Keywords: Communication,
