Sammanfattning: History making is a research based project within the area of product design. It aimed to answer the question: How can oral history be preserved and displayed using product design? The purpose of preserving and displaying oral history is to contribute to the right of one's own history, as well as expanding the different perspectives of historical events that are otherwise dismissed. The final product was designed with the hope of normalizing the use and culture of oral history while promoting its value to the user.  The research was based in the theories of Social Sustainability, Human Centered Design (HCD) and Participatory Design. Three semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts in oral history and community art. One workshop was conducted in two parted, the first of which utilized visual tools as a method of Participatory Design. The second part tested ways of storytelling and how these could be perceived. To analyze the research methods a mindmap of the history making process was made, as well as a persona of a potential user. The final product design was an improved version of a praxinoscope with its own service system. Using the priorly mentioned mindmap and persona as reference, the product and service encourage slow learning and afterthought, an accessible way of engaging in history, nuanced perspectives on historical events, and finally utilizing oral history as a complementary historical source.
