1. Modelling the Water Table in a Bog
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Over the past five years, an ongoing study at INES, Lund University, have examined the encroachment of trees and vegetation into a bog ecosystem in northern Scania, Sweden. While several factors have been identified as contributing to this ecological transformation, including, nutrient availability, and climate, the hydrological aspect remains a key area of investigation. 2. Managing diversity : the forest development types as a framework for management within mixed forest systems
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)Sammanfattning : The demand for both biodiversity and recreational forests is increasing. Management methods under the umbrella term Close-to-Nature management, which aims to incorporate natural successional patterns and disturbances, is considered preferable to traditional forest management methods in terms of both recreational and ecological values (Wimberly et al. 3. Identification of restoration hotspots in landscape-scale green infrastructure planning based on model-predicted connectivity forest
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : Boreal forest landscapes have undergone severe anthropogenic fragmentation and their enormous values concerning, e.g., ecosystem service, biodiversity and culture are hazarded. LÄS MER
4. FOREST LANDSCAPE STRUCTURE OF CAPERCAILLIE (TETRAO UROGALLUS) LEK SITES IN NORTHERN SWEDEN : Analysis of lek site characteristics
Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskapSammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to analyze which variables influence the capercaillie’s (Tetrao urogallus) selection of lek sites in northern Sweden by using remote sensing data. The lek site is a crucial area for the species’ reproductive success. LÄS MER
5. Carabidocoenoses and Fragments of Forests : exploring the Carabid Landscape
Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and ManagementSammanfattning : Epigeic ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) were sampled between 2021-06-28 and 2021-07-09 using pitfall traps in the Swedish counties Värmland and Gävleborg. The structural properties of the landscapes surrounding these points were estimated from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s national land cover databases and the Swedish Forest Agency’s data for all formally protected and high conservation value forests using patch-based configurational metrics.
