1. Development and characterization of tissue-mimicking phantom materials for photoacoustic imaging
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Tissue-mimicking phantoms are of great interest in the development of bio-medical applications. Instead of applying to biological tissues directly, phantoms enable stable and easy accessibility to validate spectroscopy systems and measuring processes. This thesis project is centered on the development and characterization of phantoms. LÄS MER
2. Spectroscopy and RGB-Colorimetry for Quantification of Plant Pigment and Fruit Content in Fruit Drinks
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Collimated Transmission Spectroscopy (CTS) is a technique that is commonly used to study the optical absorption of different media. In this work CTS was used to measure the absorbance of pure raspberry juice in order to investigate how well the fruit content may be determined in a commercially available raspberry fruit drink. 3. Development of a tissue-like protoporphyrin IX fluorescence phantom and performance of characterisation experiments
Kandidat-uppsats, Biomedicinsk instrumentteknik; Tekniska högskolanSammanfattning : Background and Objective: Fluorescence spectroscopy is a potential tool for brain tumour resection surgery. The main advantages of fluorescence spectroscopy are the objective fluorescence detection, possibility to quantify the signals and high sensitivity for instance to distinguish between healthy and neoplastic tissue. 4. Optical Scattering Properties of Fat Emulsions Determined by Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy and Monte Carlo Simulations
Master-uppsats, Institutionen för medicinsk teknik; Tekniska högskolanSammanfattning : To estimate the propagation of light in tissue-like optical phantoms (fat emulsions), this thesis utilized the diffuse reflectance spectroscopy in combination with Monte Carlo simulations. A method for determining the two-parametric Gegenbauer-kernal phase function was utilized in order to accurately describe the diffuse reflectance from poly-dispersive scattering optical phantoms with small source-detector separations. 5. Creation and Evaluation of Solid Optical Tissue Phantoms for Bio-Medical Optics Applications
Magister-uppsats, Institutionen för medicinsk teknikSammanfattning : Because of their compatibility and precise results bio-optical methods based on measurements of the optical tissue properties gain importance in non-invasive medical therapy and diagnostic. For development and standardization of medical devices optical phantoms are suitable. LÄS MER
