  1. 1. Evaluating a Carbon Tax : France as a Case Study - CO2 Emissions from Cars

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Economics

    Författare :Fredrik Söderlund; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Carbon Tax; Carbon Component; French Carbon tax; Synthetic Control Method;

    Sammanfattning : This quasi-experimental study is the first to evaluate the French experience of adding a carbon tax directly onto existing taxes on fossil fuel consumption by performing an econometric case study. Furthermore, the introduction of the French carbon tax resulted in the so called “yellow vests protests”, the protests acted as a catalyst, and further stressed the need to evaluate environmental taxes, not only in relation to combating global warming but also regarding the procedures of providing information to the public. 2. 2. Need for Speed(y) Conversion to a Low-Emission Vehicle Fleet : The Incidence of the Swedish Feebate Tax in the Presence of the Impending EU CO2 Emission Standards

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Michaela Dagher; [2022]
    Nyckelord :feebate tax; tax incidence; BonusMalus; vehicle fleet;

    Sammanfattning : In 2014, the European Union and its members agreed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 40 percent before 2030. The Bonus-Malus, a feebate tax scheme, was introduced in Sweden in 2018 in the hopes that it would result in lower carbon dioxide emission from Sweden’s transport sector. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Plaster för framtidens cirkulära ekonomi

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Elisabeth Beach; [2021]
    Nyckelord :plaster; avfall; cirkulär ekonomi; bioekonomi; innovation; hållbarhet; avfallshantering;

    Sammanfattning : Riksdagen (2020) har beslutat att Sveriges långsiktiga ekonomi ska styras successivt över från dagens konsumtionsekonomi mot en mer hållbar cirkulär ekonomi men ändå tyckts det enligt flera av de källor som har använts att det går alldeles för långsamt med övergången. Europeiska Kommissionen (2015) beskriver den cirkulära ekonomin som “… där värdet av produkter, material och resurser bibehålls i en ekonomi så länge som möjligt och där genereringen av avfall minimeras, som ett viktigt bidrag till EU:s ansträngningar för att utveckla en hållbar, låg koldioxid, resurseffektiv och konkurrenskraftig ekonomi”. Sammanfattning : In order to transform the fossil fuel dependent transport sector the promotion of biofuels has been crucial in the European Union’s transition towards climate neutrality. To ensure the sustainability of biofuels the European Commission published a Delegated Act on March 13th 2019, proposing the gradual phase-out of high emitting biofuels that may cause indirect land use change (ILUC) – one of them being palm oil.
