  1. 1. Betesrestaureringens effekter på växtartrikedom och biologisk mångfald : -restaurering av betesmark på Hallands Väderö

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Avdelningen för biologi; Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Rolfsdotter Söderberg Ylva; [2024]
    Nyckelord :pasture restoration; biodiversity; species richness; effective number of species; plants; plant species; number of species; clearing; pasture; betesrestaurering; biologisk mångfald; artrikedom; effektivt artantal; växter; växtarter; antal arter; artantal; hävd; betesmark; naturbetesmark;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Pasture is a very species-rich but threatened nature type, and compared to 200 years ago, only five percent of natural pastures remain in Sweden. One way to try to save the biological diversity that pastures harbor is to restore overgrown land by clearing and reintroducing grazing animals. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Could horse grazing be used to restore abandoned fields? : a comparison of the vegetation between horse pastures and abandoned fields, and an inventory of the effects of grazing- history and intensity

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Jantien Vogel; [2022]
    Nyckelord :abandoned field; grazing; horse pasture; functional traits; species richness; vegetation;

    Sammanfattning : Semi-natural fields, created by traditional land-use systems like low-intensity cattle grazing, have high ecological value due to the occurrence of numerous plant species, and their associated faunal communities. In Sweden, this habitat is threatened by both land-abandonment and agricultural intensification. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Investigating future land use scenarios: consequences for food production and grassland preservation in the steppe biome, Orenburg province of Southwestern Russia

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Stockholm Resilience Centre

    Författare :Nataliia Pustilnik; [2020]
    Nyckelord :land use change; scenarios; shared socio-economic pathways; land use-change modelling; steppe; grasslands;

    Sammanfattning : Many land systems experience massive ecological pressure due to ongoing land use changes for the increasing demand for food, but also need to sustain essential ecosystem services. Computer-based model scenarios help to anticipate the consequences of different socio-economic future transition pathways for humans and nature and evaluate trade-offs between various demands on land. 4. 4. Restaurering av betesmark och slåtterängar : en redogörelse och granskning av behov, ändamål, tillvägagångssätt och effekter

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Lovisa Pettersson; [2019]
    Nyckelord :restaurering; betesmark; äng; miljöersättning; slåtteräng; jordbruksstöd; naturbetesmark;

    Sammanfattning : Naturbetesmarker och slåtterängar är en produkt av människans hävd. Till följd av detta förändras gräsmarker när människans levnadsmönster förändras. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Effect of restoration and surrounding grassland proportion on the dung beetle metapopulation abundance in the fragmented semi-natural grasslands : dung beetles in restored semi-natural grasslands

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Ecology

    Författare :Vivek Babu; [2018]
    Nyckelord :dung beetle; grassland proportion; restoration; Aphodius; Geotrupes; abundance; semi-natural grassland; Scarabaeidae; metapopulation; habitat fragmentation; landscape ecology;

    Sammanfattning : The importance of landscape composition surrounding the local habitats is increasingly recognized, especially with goal of enhancing the understanding about its role in various conservation frameworks. The dung beetles which depend on human mediated ephemeral resources (Dung from domestic animal) gives a valuable opportunity for understanding landscape moderated effects of both the landscape structure as well as sensitive grazing management on the local populations of semi-natural grasslands in Sweden.
