En studie i blått – har det politiska skiftet ekonomiserat kulturen?

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för kulturadministration

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this paper is to make the effects of the new cultural policies as presented by the current government visible. To do this I conducted a document study of Proposition 1996/97:3: Kulturpolitik och Proposition 2009/10:3: Tid för kultur in order to clearly show the change in Swedish cultural policy. I also conducted an interview study with members of Form/Design Center's staff in order to show how a cultural organization has been affected by the changes in cultural policy. The hypothesis of the paper states that the political changes have resulted in an economization of the culture. The theoretical framework consists of Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of capital, field and habitus and concepts from organizational behavior. The document study showed that the current government emphasizes that all of our society is responsible for the culture, whereas the culture sector is expected to turn to the other sectors for funding and collaborations. The interview study showed that the organization is going through an emergent process of change to become more professional, and that the staff experience increased demands from the public sector regarding collaborations with the private sector in order to obtain sponsorships et cetera.
