  1. 11. A CoAP Publish-Subscribe Broker for More Resource-Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Ramcin Oudishu; Pethrus Gärdborn; [2018]
    Nyckelord :WSN; Wireless Sensor Networks; CoAP; Constrained Application Protocol; Publish-Subscribe; pub sub; Trådlösa sensornätverk; publicera-prenumerera; pub pre;

    Sammanfattning : With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are deployed increasingly all over the world, providing data that can help increase sustainable development. Currently in Uppsala, Sweden, the GreenIoT project monitors air pollution by using WSNs. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Evaluating the functionality of an Industrial Internet of Things system in the Fog

    M1-uppsats, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Författare :Mathias Granlund; Christoffer Hoppe; [2018]
    Nyckelord :IoT; IIoT; Fog; Cloud; Closed-loop control system; RPL; 6LoWPAN; Contiki-OS; Cooja; TmoteSky; IEEE 802.15.4; CoAP;

    Sammanfattning : The Internet is one of the greatest innovations ever created by mankind, and it is a technical trend that has moved into industries to facilitate automation, supervision and management in the form of IoT devices. These devices are designed to be extremely lightweight and operate in low-power and lossy networks, and therefore run a low duty cycle and CPU-clock frequency to reserve battery life. LÄS MER

  3. 13. A comparison between database and Internet of Thing solutions : For remote measuring of radon

    Kandidat-uppsats, Mittuniversitetet/Avdelningen för informationssystem och -teknologi

    Författare :Wictor Svensson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Fog-computing; fog-unit; MQTT; CoAP; Raspberry Pi; Python;

    Sammanfattning : More and more devices around us are connected to the internet and communicate to each other. This includes devices such as radon sensors. Radon is a radio active gas and is the cause of several hundred cases of lung cancer. Smart connected radon sensors can be helpful to reduce the levels of radon as they provide remote access to the user. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Evaluation of Internet of Things Communication Protocols Adapted for Secure Transmission in Fog Computing Environments

    Master-uppsats, Mittuniversitetet/Avdelningen för informationssystem och -teknologi

    Författare :Thomas Wiss; [2018]
    Nyckelord :IoT; Fog cloud computing; CoAP; MQTT; AMQP; TLS; DTLS; SCTP; Websockets;

    Sammanfattning : A current challenge in the Internet of Things is the seeking after conceptual structures to connect the presumably billions of devices of innumerable forms and capabilities. An emerging architectural concept, the fog cloud computing, moves the seemingly unlimited computational power of the distant cloud to the edge of the network, closer to the potentially computationally limited things, effectively diminishing the experienced latency. 5. 15. IoT Latency and Power consumption : Measuring the performance impact of MQTT and CoAP

    Master-uppsats, Högskolan i Jönköping/JTH, Datateknik och informatik

    Författare :Alexander Lagerqvist; Tejas Lakshminarayana; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Internet of things; IoT; Wireless sensor networks; WSN; Constrained devices; MQTT; CoAP; Latency; Power consumption; Experiment;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the impact on latency and power consumption of certain usage environments for selected communication protocols that have been designed for resource constrained usage. The research questions in this thesis is based on the findings in Lindén report “A latency comparison of IoT protocols in MES” and seeks to answer the following: ”How does MQTT impact the latency and power consumption on a constrained device?” ”How does CoAP impact the latency and power consumption on a constrained device?” ”How does usage environment influence the latency for MQTT and CoAP?” This thesis only seeks to explore concepts and usage environments related to wireless sensor networks, internet of things and constrained devices.
