  1. 1. Methodology for Stored Heat “Heat In Place” (HIP) assessment of geothermal aquifers – Exemplified by a study of the Arnager Greensand in SW Scania

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Oskar Sundberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :geothermal energy; geothermal resource assessment; geothermal potential; volume method; volumetric method; recovery factor; direct use; direct heat; Mesozoic aquifers; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : In the sedimentary bedrock of southwest Scania, located in the southernmost part of Sweden, there are several low-enthalpy Mesozoic sandstone aquifers situated at different depths. These aquifers collectively hold the potential for direct-heat geothermal utilization. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Wildfire growth modelling in Sweden - a suitability assessment of available data

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Henrik Hagelin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Geographic Information Science; Physical geography; Prometheus; WiSE-FASS; The 2014 Västmanland wildfire; Wildfire growth modelling; Wildfire suppression support; Wildfire behaviour; MESAN; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Wildfires are worldwide problems that stress societies by damaging their economies and they cause serious, sometimes fatal, health implications among the populations. In recent years, the rate of wildfire occurrence has increased as the global average temperature has risen. Because of global climate change, this rate is expected to continue rising. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 4. 4. Energy Poverty: Geospatial Modelling in 2021 Berlin using publicly available data : KTH Thesis Report

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Rita Aparici Quiñones; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Energy services are essential for human development and well-being, and the unequal distribution of them leads to inequalities and vulnerabilities. Energy poverty, generally understood as the inability to heat a household, is an increasingly pressing issue that in the context of political and climatic instabilities could affect more and more households. 5. 5. Front and rear irradiation distribution for different bifacial PV systems : Simulation and evaluation of the irradiation distribution on the solar PV panels at different albedo conditions using ray-tracing software

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Författare :Soufiane El Madi; Shadi Abubaker; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Bifacial photovoltaic (PV) modules are a type of solar panel that has the capability to capture sunlight and generate electricity from both the front and rear sides of the modules. This work focuses on evaluating the irradiation on both the front and rear sides of bifacial PV modules for various system designs (vertical, tilted, and elevated) and under different ground albedo conditions (grass, snow, and bare soil) using ray-tracing software.
