1. Pheromone-based mating disruption to control Spodoptera frugiperda in Tanzania: Possibilites and Constraints for smallholders
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)Sammanfattning : Despite a growing interest in the use of pheromones as a more sustainable form of pest control, their use remains unstudied in the smallholder context. This paper is one of the first to study their use by small scale Tanzanian maize farmers to control the invasive pest Spodoptera frugiperda (known as fall armyworm). LÄS MER
2. Exploring the Depth-Performance Trade-Off : Applying Torch Pruning to YOLOv8 Models for Semantic Segmentation Tasks
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Sammanfattning : In order to comprehend the environments from different aspects, a large variety of computer vision methods are developed to detect objects, classify objects or even segment them semantically. Semantic segmentation is growing in significance due to its broad applications in fields such as robotics, environmental understanding for virtual or augmented reality, and autonomous driving. 3. The Impact of Deep Neural Network Pruning on the Hyperparameter Performance Space: An Empirical Study
Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för data- och informationsteknikSammanfattning : With the continued growth of deep learning models in terms of size and computational requirements, the need for efficient models for deployment on resource-constrained devices becomes crucial. Structured pruning has emerged as a proven method to speed up models and reduce computational requirements. LÄS MER
4. ANOMALY DETECTION FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS USING COMMODITY HARDWARE
Kandidat-uppsats, Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för innovation, design och teknikSammanfattning : As the Automotive industry is heavily regulated from a quality point of view, excellence in pro-duction is obligatory. Due to the fact that removing human error from humans is impossible, new solutions must be found. LÄS MER
5. The state of social media usage to fight malnutrition among children under the age of five years in Tanzania
Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informatik och mediaSammanfattning : This study has evaluated how Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC), a government institution overseeing nutrition, uses social media to enhance the nutrition literacy of caregivers and parents of children under the age of five years. The study contributes to knowledge on how Tanzania’s resource-constrained health sector’s nutrition communication can benefit from social media by answering the following research questions: Which social media platforms and features does TFNC use to share nutrition knowledge pertaining to children under the age of five years? What kinds of nutrition knowledge pertaining to children under the age of five years does TFNC share on social media? How is nutrition knowledge pertaining to children under the age of five years posted on TFNC social media pages packaged? And, how frequently is nutrition knowledge pertaining to children under the age of five years repeated on TFNC social media pages? These questions have been answered from a social-behavioral change communication perspective that has combined the Media Ecology Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior. LÄS MER
