11. Spreading of persistent organic pollutants from fiber bank sediments
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Aquatic Sciences and AssessmentSammanfattning : Discharge of untreated wastewater from paper and pulp industries have led to large environmental impacts on the coastal sediments in Västernorrland, Sweden. Dissolved fibers caused the formation of large fiber banks and fiber influenced sediment areas, which proved to be highly affected by contamination with persistent organic pollutants (POPs). LÄS MER
13. Impact on Soil and Groundwater from Road Maintenance and Traffic: Initial Study of the E18 Highway.
Master-uppsats, KTH/Mark- och vattenteknikSammanfattning : The investigation of environmental impacts of 16 different contaminants originating from the E18 Highway (17 000 AADT) were carried out over the first six months of the highway‘s operational life. Investigative methods used include electrical resistivity surveying, water chemistry analyses, soil analyses, distribution modelling and transportation modelling. LÄS MER
14. Miljöteknisk undersökning enligt MIFO : en studie på fastigheten Bodsjölandet 1:14 avseende den nedlagda tjärfabriken i Grötingen
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : During 40 years of industrial production, from the end of the 1890’s until the end of 1930’s, coal and wood distillation products were manufactured in AB Carbo’s tar factory along the River Gimån in Grötingen, in the county of Jämtland, Sweden. In accordance with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s Methods for Inventories of contaminated sites, MIFO, the site in Grötingen has been identified as a potentially contaminated site. 15. Naturlig nedbrytning av klorerade lösningsmedel i grundvatten
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Chlorinated solvents are common contaminants in soil and water. Under anaerobic conditions microbes are capable of transforming chlorinated solvents into ethylene which would result in a remediation of the contaminated area. In order to use natural attenuation as a remediation method evidence of continuous degradation is required. LÄS MER
