  1. 1. Detection of Sparse and Weak Effects in High-Dimensional Supervised Learning Problems, Applied to Human Microbiome Data

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Fred Lindahl; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Signal detection; signal identification; higher criticism; microbiome data; sparse and weak effects; goodness-of-fit tests; kolmogorov-smirnov tests; Signal detektering; signal identifiering; higher criticism; mikrobiom data; glesa och svaga effekter; goodness-of-fit tester; Kolmogorov-smirnov tester;

    Sammanfattning : This project studies the signal detection and identification problem in high-dimensional noisy data and the possibility of using it on microbiome data. An extensive simulation study was performed on generated data using as well as a microbiome dataset collected on patients with Parkinson's disease, using Donoho and Jin's Higher criticism, Jager and Wellner's phi-divergence-based goodness-of-fit-test and Stepanova and Pavlenko's CsCsHM statistic . 2. 2. Large scale inference under sparse and weak alternatives: non-asymptotic phase diagram for CsCsHM statistics

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Oskar Stattin; [2017]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : High-throughput measurement technology allows to generate and store huge amounts of features, of which very few can be useful for any one single problem at hand. Examples include genomics, proteomics and astronomy, where massive multiple testing often needs to be per- formed, expecting a few significant effects and essentially a null back- ground. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Using multi-criteria evaluation and GIS for chronic food and nutrition insecurity indicators analysis in Ethiopia

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Mathewos Tamiru Amato; [2016]
    Nyckelord :multi-criteria evaluation; food and nutrition insecurity indicators; food security dimensions; Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; GIS; districts; Ethiopia; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The actual concept of food security focuses on four food security dimensions: food availability, food access, food utilization and food stability of which eight indicators were identified for this study. The study aims to evaluate vulnerability to chronic food and nutrition insecurity, one of the food stability types, in Ethiopia; and examines the relationship between four food security dimensions and stunting of children under age five.
