  1. 1. An investigation of pea and cereal varieties for organic intercropping in Sweden

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Agnes Elise Matilda Wilson; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Intercropping; agroecology; organic; peas; cereals; heritage grains;

    Sammanfattning : Organic farming, intercropping and the conservation of landraces are agroecological methods of transitioning to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural system, however there is a lack of data on varieties suitable for organic intercropping. Therefore, two spatially parallel field trials were conducted with 11 pea varieties intercropped with oat, and 38 varieties of cereals (wheat, oat, and barley), in sole crops. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Effective soil organic carbon monitoring in perennial agriculture systems - Sampling protocol development and evaluation

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Maja Holm; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Physical geography; ecosystem science; soil organic carbon; soil sampling; perennial crops; carbon sequestration; carbon farming; Kernza™; soil organic carbon stock; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Perennial agriculture systems are gaining ground as a more sustainable alternative to conventional annual agriculture, partly for their potential to increase the soil organic carbon (SOC) content. Carbon farming is another hot topic for SOC sequestration, as it creates economic incentives for farmers. LÄS MER

  3. 3. How commercialization rate impacts the profits of dairy farms in Kenya

  4. 4. Fungi as a potential solution to microplastic pollution: A qualitative study examining the opportunities and obstacles of implementing mycoremediation in Swedish agricultural soils from a perspective of ecological sustainability

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för globala studier

    Författare :Julia Zajac; [2023-11-08]
    Nyckelord :mycoremediation; ecological sustainability; sustainable development; microplastics; fungi;

    Sammanfattning : The world is facing microplastic pollution in almost all areas, as a result of increased manufacture and use of plastics in recent years. One of the most highly polluted environments are agricultural soils, which are estimated to contain up to 14 percent of all microplastic pollution. Few effective methods exist to solve this problem.
