  1. 1. Energy Efficient Communication Scheduling for IoT-based Waterbirds Monitoring: Decentralized Strategies

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Otabek Sobirov; [2022]
    Nyckelord :TSCH; 6TiSCH; RPL; scheduling; energy consumption; COOJA; autonomous scheduling; distributed scheduling; reinforcement learning; RL-based scheduling; Q-Learning;

    Sammanfattning : Monitoring waterbirds have several benefits, including analyzing the number of endangered species, giving a reliable indication of public health, etc. Monitoring waterbirds in their habitat is a challenging task since the location is distant, and the collection of monitoring data requires large bandwidth. 2. 2. Hur har häckande våtmarksfåglar svarat på restaureringar utförda i Kvismarens naturreservat, Närke?

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Magnus Persson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Wetlands; wetland restorations; wetland birds; waterbirds; Lake Kvismaren; Våtmarker; restaureringar; våtmarksfåglar; Kvismaren;

    Sammanfattning : Näringsrika våtmarker i odlingslandskapet tenderar med tiden att växa igen vilket innebär förlust av biologisk mångfald. Att bekämpa igenväxning och föryngra den ekologiska successionen genom våtmarksrestaurering är ett sätt att få tillbaka fågellivet i våtmarker. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Methane flux in the Doñana wetlands : Waterbird guano addition and benthicinvertebrate effects

    Magister-uppsats,

    Författare :Noa Ratia; [2019]
    Nyckelord :aquatic invertebrates; bottom-up effects; CH4; Doñana; greenhouse gases; mesocosm; methane; sediment cores; akvatiska evertebrater; bottom-up effekter; CH4; Doñana; mesokosm; metan; sedimentkärnor; växthusgaser;

    Sammanfattning : Wetlands are globally important biogeochemical hotspots, and their roles as either significant sources of greenhouse gas or carbon sinks are strongly controlled by environmental drivers such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus availability, which can stimulate emission of three greenhouse gases: nitrous oxide (N2O), carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4). Mounting evidence suggests that aquatic invertebrate activity can enhance wetland greenhouse gas flux, through bioturbation and bioirrigation of surrounding sediments. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Habitat use by waterbirds in wetlands during winter and spring – a study of five wetlands in Halmstad, Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för ekonomi, teknik och naturvetenskap

    Författare :Kristin Lundquist; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Wetlands; waterbirds; migration; winter; recreational value; climate; Våtmarker; fåglar; migration; vinter; rekreationsvärde; klimat;

    Sammanfattning : During December-April in 2016/2017, five wetlands in near proximity to the city of Halmstad and four stretches along the stream Trönningeån were investigated regarding their use by birds during winter and spring. At one of the wetlands it was investigated whether non-entry rules are set accordingly to the breeding period. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Status, trends and values of wintering and migrating birds in Gialova lagoon, Messenia, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Viggo Norrby; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Wetlands; waterbirds; bird migration; greece; inventory; monitoring;

    Sammanfattning : Areas of wetland have for the last century declined globally, mostly as a cause of anthropogenic activitities. Since many bird species are depending on wetlands, this have affected their populations negatively, and today many of the remaining wetlands are protected. LÄS MER
