Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to investigate the motivational work in needle exchanges. The analysis was based on two theories; a theory of Per Revstedt and the pygmalioneffect. The study is based on qualitative interviews with seven person (six women and one man) who work in needle exchanges. The interviews is later analysed. The results show that the respondents express that the goal with the motivational work is to help the clients to get out of drug addictions. They describe many different factors behind the clients motivation to get out of drug abuse. The respondents say that difficulties with the motivational work is for example that the clients have very strong privacy and therefore it is not easy to push them forward. The factors who help the clients to get motivated for treatment is diversify. There are both intrinsic and external factors and sometimes a combination of both.
