Kan en heterosexuell man ha feministiskt sex? En studie av villkoren för mänskligt handlande.

Sammanfattning: Sammanfattning Syftet med denna uppsats är att söka svar på vilka analytiska verktyg som krävs för att förstå villkoren för mänskligt handlande. Min tes är att den diskursteoretiska epistemologi som kommit att dominera samtida feministisk forskning - i uppsatsen representerad främst av Judith Butler - inte tillhandahåller dessa analytiska verktyg. För att pröva denna tes har jag intervjuat fem heterosexuella, feministiska män om deras erfarenheter av sex. Jag frågar mig: på vilket sätt bestäms intervjupersonernas sexuella interaktion med kvinnor av deras respektive positioner som heterosexuella män och som feminister? I min analys tillämpar jag ett dialektiskt angreppssätt och stöder mig framför allt på Margaret Archers teoribygge. Min slutsats blir att det, för att i detalj kunna blottlägga villkoren för männens handlande, är fundamentalt att göra den typ av distinktioner som diskursteorin emotsätter sig - mellan subjektivt och objektivt, diskurs och praktik, etcetera. Vidare drar jag slutsatsen att relationen mellan de analytiskt åtskilda dimensionerna måste förstån som dialektiskt. Abstract The object of this thesis is to explore what kind of analytical tools we need in order to understand the conditions of human agency. My hypothesis is that the epistemology of discourse theory that has come to dominate contemporary feminist research - in this thesis mainly represented by Judith Buthler - does not supply these analytical tools. To try out this hypothesis I have made interviews with five heterosexual, feminist men about their experiences of sex. The question I ask is: in which way is the informants' sexual interaction with women determined by their respective postitions as heterosexual men and feminists? I apply a dialectical approach in my analysis and primarily use Margaret Archer's theoretical framework. My conclusion is that, in order to reveal the conditions of the men's practice, it is fundamental to make the kind of distinctions rejected by discourse theorists - between the subjective and the objective, discourse and practice, etecetera. I also draw the conclustion that the relation between the analytically distinct dimensions must be understood as dialectical.
