Väg 111, Helsingborg. Undersökning huruvida ombyggnation behövs.

Detta är en Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå från Lunds universitet/Trafik och väg

Sammanfattning: The road 111 that runs past Helsingborg is an important connecting road to a larger road network for the towns and areas outside of Helsingborg. The purpose of this essay is to do a research to see whether a measure is needed from an accessibility perspective and to give a proposal for an appropriated measure. The analysis is limited to the distance between the traffic point Brohult and the exit point to Mariastaden, which is located north of the traffic point. To be able to answer the question a field study was carried out where the delays were studied. In the field problem points could be noted and possible measures planned. The field study is used as a supplement to be able to control and support the theoretical calculations of the traffic flow per hour. In order to decide whether or when a measure is needed, it must be determined whether the annual traffic increase should be based on the Trafikverkets assumption or the average increase at the specified distance. There is a big difference between the Trafikverkets calculated annual traffic increase and the traffic increase that has occurred on the road. The traffic flows have increased 1.3 % in the Northwest of Skåne according to Trafikverket but the calculated average increase that has occurred on the specific distance is 3.0%. To compare the result of the field study with theoretical calculations the calculated average traffic increase seems better suited as it describes the increase for the specific route and not generally in the area. With the help of the field study and the theoretical calculations it can be stated that the maximum capacity has exceeded in both driving directions, which means that measures should be taken. This study describes two options that can solve the problems. The first is to increase the speed limit at most part of the specified distance. This would mean that the road's capacity is increased but it also means that the safety will be affected. The second option is to expand so there are two lanes in each direction. This can be done in two ways. Either you remove the existing bus stops, which means that you can use the current bus lane for public traffic. As the route is surrounded by an industrial district there are many work commutators, this option will adversely affect them. The other way to increase the lanes is to move the bus stops away from the road so that they get a separate bus bay. However, this option requires major rebuilding and a larger capital. The conclusion after this study is that there is a need for a measure from an accessibility perspective as the road exceeds its capacity and queues are formed. It is only the perspective of accessibility that has been considered and in order to give a concrete answer to the question this work needs to be supplemented with further studies.
