Sammanfattning: ABSTRACT The issue of integration and working status of migrants from Somalia has been a topic of discussion in recent years. Looking into working Somali women's experience with social belonging this study hopes to offer a bigger understanding of the factors they believe have a part in their possible inclusion and exclusion.  This study aims to investigate and observe how the first generation of women migrants of Somali descent experience social exclusion and social belonging in Swedish society. The role of various factors such as housing, ethnicity, attitudes, religion and culture in women's social belonging is examined as well as which of these factors contribute to and hinder their inclusion in Swedish society. The study has been conducted through the use of interviews and a deductive analysis. The results have been analyzed through the lenses of social identity theory and intersectionality theory.  When presenting the results of the interviews it was found that the participants experienced social exclusion because of their religion, skin color and residential area. They have experienced this in their work, when integrating within the society and when living their day-to-day life. Their perceived feeling of social belonging was mostly due to their participation in the workforce as well as their knowledge about Swedish culture and language.
