  1. 1. Effects of Ultrafast Ionization in X-ray Coherent Diffraction Imaging

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Kemi

    Författare :Arezu Sehati; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Coherent Diffraction Imaging; X-ray Free Electron Lasers; Refractive index; Core-shell nanoclusters; Rare-gas ionization; Koherent Diffraktionsavbildning; Röntgenfrielektronlaser; Brytningsindex; Core-shell-nanokluster; Ädelgasjonisering;

    Sammanfattning : Koherent Diffraktionsavbildning med en intensiv röntgenpuls från en Frielektronlaser har möjliggjort strukturbestämning av isolerade nanopartiklar som inte går att studera med hjälp av konventionella metoder, så som elektronmikroskopi. En mycket kort pulslängd tillsammans med spridningssignalens beroende av objektets elektroniska struktur medför också möjligheten att studera inducerad ultrasnabb dynamik med denna teknik. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Författare :Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Nyckelord :super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Analyzing Synthetic Spider Silk-based Diffraction Grids for the Sunshade Project

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :Johanna D'Ciofalo Khodaverdian; Amira Karlsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sunshade project; Diffraction grating; Artificial spider silk; Climate change; Geoengineering;

    Sammanfattning : To mitigate climate change a proposed space-based geoengineering solutionis to screen off solar irradiance by placing a membrane in between the Earthand the Sun. The feasibility of such a project largely depends on minimizingthe mass of the shading screen and as an extension to the Sunshade projectthis thesis investigated how such a low-mass membrane could be designed. 4. 4. Influence from temperature variations in stacking fault energy on the mechanical properties of stainless steels

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Christopher Hallén; Marcus Johansson Storne; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This paper investigates the mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms of austenitic stainless steels and how they relate to the material property of stacking fault energy (SFE) and its relation to temperature and nickel content. Austenitic stainless steels are commonly used and well known for good mechanical properties and deformation characteristics. LÄS MER
