Sammanfattning: In this master thesis computational fluid dynamics simulations areconducted to dimension a hydrofoil to be used in a floating windturbine designed by Manta Wind. The simulations are made with thesoftware SolidWorks flow simulation. The aim of the project is to construct a hydrofoil that generates anamount of lift enough to compensate for the different forces that occurwhen the wind turbine is operational. Calculations of these differentforces of the wind power plant are also in the scope of the report. Afirst estimation of the hydrofoils geometry is conducted throughtheoretical calculations with MATLAB to then be constructed andsimulated with the computational fluid dynamics simulations inSolidWorks. The results of the simulations show that designing a hydrofoil capableof compensating for the forces exerted by the wind powerplant ispossible, but that the factors construction cost, limits on speed andrisk of cavitation need to be examined further to be able to determinea final design of the hydrofoil.ISSN: 1650-
