Sammanfattning: Abstract  Product development has been the focus throughout the work. By clearly structuring a project plan to develop a concept, the project has worked with Invencon AB to develop a snow cannon that has the potential to position itself in the market with its innovative approach to reducing energy consumption and facilitating maintenance work.  The idea of this thesis is to dare to look beyond traditional snow making and investigate if it is possible to find new ways to make snow by avoiding compressed air that is usually included and at the same time develop a completely new design with all the parts included.   The work started with a preliminary study in order to get an insight into the field of knowledge and how a snow cannon works, which later formed the basis for the design of the snow lance.  With a few selected methods, concepts have been generated that meet the requirements and wishes developed during the field study. Taking these requirements into account, the product should also be designed from a sustainable perspective. Methods used during the project are:   ● Project plan ● Information gathering  ● Design analysis  ● Requirements specification  ● Concept generation ● Concept selection    The design developed is a concept that has DFMA in mind which has resulted in few component parts but still ensures safe use. The work has always strived for a simple design to facilitate use but above all to try to keep the price down.   The project has resulted in a concept that involves creating a natural air intake to exclude the compressor, which would reduce the energy consumption of the plant. The energy consumption of the design is calculated to be drastically reduced in favorable weather conditions and would allow Ålviksbacken to save around SEK 20 000 during the season 21/22.
