Att vara eller inte vara offentlig : En studie kring 7 mammor och deras bloggande

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Socialhögskolan

Sammanfattning: Our aim with this study was to follow seven mums who are blogging about their everyday life and all of them are struggling with different traumatic crisis. Their blogs can also be called a personal blog because it contains a high level of self-disclosure to the publics. We wanted to examine the fine line between public and private and how the mother balances this line in their emotions, intimate stories and their motherhood. We used a qualitative method and our texts are from the cyberethnographic field, documents that exist on the internet. Our empirical data is taken from seven blogs written by mothers because they matched our interest to explore how they write about the most personal thoughts in the public sphere. In our conclusion we discovered that the mommybloggers use their blogs as a tool to handle their situation. In the blogosphere we also found that mothers build a community together with the readers and the interaction between them is growing strong. Some of the mothers say that through their blogs they can write about subjects that are painful and when they get response from readers they feel a little less lonely. Our mothers use the private and public line differently and we can see that some of them tell us a lot about themselves like their names, their children’s names, pictures, where they live and what their daily life is like.
